Romance and art wrapped in one good story.
I just finished reading Cath Crowley’s book, Graffiti Moon. A book about a girl named Lucy in a mission to find romance and finding the elusive graffiti artist, Shadow. Seeing Shadow’s art works all over town make her feel like he’s made for her. Looking for Shadow unfortunately means hanging out with Ed whom she had a nose-breaking-not-so-good-history. What Lucy doesn’t know is that Ed has a secret that would either make or break their night.
I enjoyed reading the he/she POV’s because it let me know more about the characters. I love Ed and Lucy’s love hate relationship. They’re just so cute I could eat them up! I find their love story interesting and somewhat romantic-weird. I find Ed’s character interesting because of his talent and the way he talks. Ahhh! If only he’s real and not fictional. Hehe. I also love their passion for art. If I were an obsessed-hopeless-romantic-artist-fan girl, I just might do what Lucy did by hunting down the artist behind the beautiful artworks she’s seen. The setting was in a small community and their adventure was done in one day. Talk about looking for action!
Over all, the book is ok. For some reason, I just can’t get myself to love-love the book. The first parts were sort of boring, but as the story progressed, it eventually got better. Despite the fact that something got in the way of me completely ignoring my friends because of the story, I still think it’s a good read for people who loves art, romance, poems and adventure.
